We are seeking to recruit a community involvement worker to work as part of a small team in the Children’s Centre at Murston in Sittingbourne, Kent.
You will need to have strong interpersonal skills with a tactful and flexible approach.
The successful candidate will work as part of the wider Children’s Centre to ensure the Children’s Centre addresses the needs of local children and families by supporting and engaging parents and children through a range of activities. You will ensure that children’s, parents’ and community members views are always sought and included in the development of services in the Children’s Centre.
The role will include registering families with the Children’s Centre, undertaking home visits and supporting families whilst working in partnership with a multi agency team.The post holder will also ensure the implementation of a Community Involvement Plan.
You should be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) and have proven experience of community involvement work. Being able to work with, and be sensitive to, the needs of children and their families and strong communication skills are essential.
