Kent BSF School - Caretaker Vacancy - £15,984 pa An opportunity has arisen for a Caretaker to join the Kier Facilities Services Team at Thamesview School, Gravesend Kent. The School is being rebuilt as part of Kent County Councils Wave 3 of the Building School for the Future (BSF) programme. BSF is a national initiative that aims to deliver 21st century schools for every secondary school pupil in England. Working as part of the Caretaking Team you will be responsible for contributing to the smooth running of the school by carrying out a range of Caretaker duties including security and supervision of the site and related equipment. Dealing with internal/external customers, sub contractors, and building contractors developing excellent working relationships in order to deal with queries in a timely and effective manner. To be considered for this position, you must be self motivated and be able to work well under pressure, be customer focused with excellent communication skills and prepared to work unsociable hours. You should have a good standard education with an appropriate skill set, for example basic DIY, pumbing/Electrical. You should be familiar with IT systems. The position will require a good knowledge and experience of Health & Safety legislation and a Health & Safety qualification, IOSH would be desirable. The ability to work in a team, an enthusiastic approach and effective planning skills are also key.
