At the heart of the adoption service, the Agency Adviser has responsibility for the 7 Kent Adoption Panels. The adoption panels recommend approval of plans to place children for adoption, the approval of adopters and the placement of children with specific adopters. You will be required to contribute to the recruitment, induction, training and monitoring of panel members, quality assure information being presented to panel and monitor plans against National Standards.
You will require a social work qualification and to have post-qualifying experience in children and families and/or adoption social work and be able to evidence supervision or line management experience. You should have knowledge of family placement, adoption legislation and regulations and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of individuals and professionals.
This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Criminal Records Bureau and to registration as a qualified Social Worker with the General Social Care Council.
